Whole-House Water Filter Cost: A Florida Buying Guide
A whole-house water system has two main costs: the equipment and the installation. Clearhouse’s Whole Home Filter is listed at $1,999 for Standard and $2,299 for Large. You hire and pay your own plumber, so the installed total also includes their quote and any additional materials, site work, shipping and tax.
How much do the systems cost?
Start with the job you want the system to do. Then choose the size that fits your home’s water use. These are Clearhouse equipment prices in USD as of October 3, 2026; check the product page for current pricing and availability.
| System | Standard | Large |
|---|---|---|
| Whole Home Filter | $1,999 | $2,299 |
| Whole Home Filter + Softener | $2,999 | $3,699 |
| Whole Home Softener | $1,799 | $1,999 |
The combined system is an option when you want filtration and softening together. If hardness has not been confirmed, you can still choose filtration and keep the softener optional. Compare what filters and softeners do.
What changes the installation price?
For a home in Tampa Bay, Sarasota or Southwest Florida, the useful number is a quote for that property. A garage with an accessible main line presents a different job from a home that needs a long pipe run or a new installation location.
- Main-line access: ask where the system connects and how much pipe needs to be added or replaced.
- Location and clearance: allow room for the equipment and future cartridge changes. A softener also needs space for its brine tank.
- Drain and power: ask the installer to confirm the selected model’s requirements and quote any work needed to meet them.
- Existing equipment: include removal, disposal or reconnection if you already have treatment equipment.
- Additional work: have the quote identify any required approvals, permits, weather protection or other trades.
The manufacturer’s installation manual is the starting point for the site review. Clearhouse does not quote a fixed labor charge for every home.
Ask for a complete written quote
Send the plumber the product link, the selected size and photographs of the proposed location. Ask them to separate labor, materials and additional work so you can compare quotes on the same basis.
- Does this quote cover the exact filter or filter-and-softener package I selected?
- Are the bypass, connections, drain arrangement and required power included?
- Will you confirm flow, pressure and space before I order?
- Does the price include startup, flushing, settings and a leak check?
- What could change the price, and what workmanship support do you provide?
Your budget: equipment + installation labor + installation materials + required site work + shipping + applicable tax. Ask which items are already included so you do not count them twice.
Plan for maintenance, too
Cartridges, tank media and softener supplies are separate maintenance items. Our product pages explain the relevant schedule. Ask your plumber what a cartridge service visit would cost if you prefer to have them handle it.
Compare the full ownership cost, including replacement cartridges, any softener salt and eventual tank servicing. A higher equipment price alone does not tell you which option best fits your home.
Common questions
Is installation included in the Clearhouse price?
No. The product price is for the equipment. You choose, hire and pay your plumber separately.
Can I get an installed price without sharing my address online?
You can explore systems and enter home details yourself without using the optional address step. Your plumber will need enough information about the property to quote the installation.
Should I automatically choose the lowest quote?
First compare the scope. Ask whether each quote includes the same equipment connections, setup and follow-up support.
