Hardness
Measurement neededNot reported
The reviewed utility report does not give a hardness measurement. Test incoming water to size a softener.
2026 report · 2025 water quality results
The 2026 Consumer Confidence Report summarizes MWA’s 2025 testing. Match the provider on your bill; these are utility results, not a Macon-Bibb household sample.
See the amount, the comparison and what it means. “Below” refers to the stated benchmark, not zero risk.
Not reported
The reviewed utility report does not give a hardness measurement. Test incoming water to size a softener.
2.3mg/L
Highest reported amount; range 0.9–2.3.
0.96mg/L
Highest reported amount; range 0.48–0.96.
39µg/L
Reported compliance value; the report separately gives a sample range of 17.2–75.7.
The report lists an 80 µg/L limit. Compliance uses running annual averages, not a single sample.
21µg/L
Reported compliance value; the report separately gives a sample range of 5.3–17.7. These are different reporting statistics.
The report lists a 60 µg/L limit; use the stated reporting basis.
0.29mg/L
Reported amount and range: 0.29 mg/L.

In drinking water, ppm ≈ mg/L, ppb ≈ µg/L and ppt ≈ ng/L. Calculated hardness in grains per US gallon (gpg) = mg/L as CaCO₃ ÷ 17.118, rounded to one decimal. ND means below the reporting limit, not zero.
MCL means a regulatory contaminant limit; MRDL is a disinfectant limit. Lead and copper use tap-sampling action levels. TTHM and HAA5 compliance is assessed using running averages at specific locations, not the highest single sample.
PFAS results depend on the compound, sample location, year and reporting limit. A missing result or nondetect is not proof of zero PFAS. EPA PFAS benchmarks and implementation ↗

A useful local question
Utility results summarize specific sampling programs. Household plumbing, location and sampling conditions can change tap results. Use a household test for a question about your own incoming water.
Results retain the utility, sample year, units and comparison used in the source. Hardness is shown separately as a utility measurement, utility guidance or regional estimate. USGS categories describe mineral content, not drinking-water safety.
Use the published report for your own retail water system. These sources can help identify the right report; a county or ZIP alone cannot confirm service.
